This Panama City Tour is a trip built to get you out of the bus and exploring the very best of Panama City.

After your hotel pick-up, the first stop is the Panama Canal!  Along the way to the famous Miraflores Locks Visitor Center, your guide will talk all about the history of Panama and the Canal.  Inside of the Visitor Center, enjoy the viewing platforms to watch the ships transit these famous locks and you will have time to check out the nicely done museum.  (If the Visitor Center is unavailable for any reason, the guide  will substitute a stop at the Pedro Miguel viewing area.)  Leaving Miraflores, the tour heads over the Centinario Bridge so you get a look at the culebra cut and visit an old French cemetery to get a feel for Panamanian history.

Next, the tour drives around the famous Cerro Ancon inside the former U.S. Canal Zone and out to the islands along the Amador Causeway for the best view of Panama City's skyline and a stop at the colorful PANAMA sign.  There's a stop for lunch (cost of lunch not included in tour price), likely on Naos Island, and a tour of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute's Punta Culebra Nature Center (closed Mondays) for a chance to see starfish, turtles, frogs, iguanas and sloths.  It is also a very important historical location.

Most days your guide will save the best for last and finish the outing with the walking tour of Panama City's Old Town, Casco Antiguo.  Visit its four plazas and marvel at its spectacular architecture while you learn about the rich history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Tansportation is provided back to your hotel, or you can decide to stay in Casco Antiguo for sunset, dinner or drinks in one of the many plazas, restaurants or rooftop bars!
